BAJMC Admission 2026: Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication (BAJMC) is the most popular course in India. Students who want to build their career in the field of journalism, digital media, advertising and  PR can pursue this 3 years UG level course. 

The admission for BAJMC program has already started at many universities for the 2026- 27 academic session. BAJMC admissions will be open till 15th April 2026 at most of the universities. Interested students are required to apply before the end date. 

To be eligible for the BAJMC course, students generally need to have completed their 10+2 or equivalent from a valid board along with 45% to 50% aggregate marks. Students from any stream background (arts, commerce or science) can easily pursue the BJMC program. However, some of the universities select candidates on the basis of entrance test score (CUET-UG)  while some provide direct admission. The program takes 3 years to complete and the fee range for the entire duration is starting from INR 15,000 to INR 1.50 lakh.

BAJMC Admission Eligibility Criteria 2026

To pursue the BAJMC program, students need to meet the following eligibility requirement before going to apply for admission. The eligibility criteria totally varies depending on the university/institution. 

Qualification Requirements: Students should have completed their senior secondary (10+2) or equivalent examination from a certified board such as CBSE or ICSE. 

Stream Preference: Students from any stream (arts, commerce or science) can apply for the BAJMC programme. Admission is open to students from all stream backgrounds. 

Minimum Marks Requirements: Universities generally require to obtain at least 50% aggregate marks at the 10+2 level. While some of the universities also provide 5% relaxation in marks to the reserved category candidates.

4Selection Criteria: The selection process is primarily based on the merit score of the previous academic qualification but some universities may accept entrance test scores. CUET- UG is the primary entrance test while universities also conduct their own entrance tests like IPU CET, SET etc.

Age Limit: The minimum age limit set for BAJMC course is 17 years but there is no maximum age limit set.

The applications are currently accepted for the BAJMC program. Eligible students are advised to visit their desired university’s official website and apply through the admission portal before the end date. Many universities/colleges provide direct admission to the BAJMC program and some take entrance exams so it is required to check the criteria carefully.

  • Step.1 Visit Website: Go to the official website of your desired university and carefully check all the requirements and selection criteria. 
  • Step.2 Registration: Open the registration portal and enter all the required details including name, mobile number, email address, DOB etc. 
  • Step.3 Upload Documents: Upload the required documents including signature and photographs.
  • Step.4 Pay Fee: Pay the online registration fee using UPI, Net Banking, Debit Card or Credit Card. 
  • Step.5 Entrance Exam: If the university requires or conducts any entrance examination then appear in the entrance test. 
  • Step.6 Merit List: Now wait for the merit list and result. 
  • Step.7 Counselling Session: If selected, then attend the counseling session. 
  • Step.8 Verification & Fee Payment: Bring your all original documents at the university for verification and pay the course fee to secure your seat.
